🆓 Free to protect
The early-warning layer is free to the public. Premium features may exist, but they never gate the protection itself. Safety for everyone is the point.
🌈 Every gender, every skin tone
No camera or AI model ships unless it is tested for accuracy across all genders and skin tones. A model that fails the test is not shipped. Bias is a bug, not a feature.
🔒 Privacy by design
The system knows as little as possible: identity is checked only where a country's law genuinely requires it, minimum data is kept, and everyone stays anonymous everywhere else. A safety net must never become a surveillance net.
📡 Data stays visible
Public safety data stays public and visible — the honest map, so abuse can never be buried.
💜 Survivor-first
No one left behind. Love is love. The platform exists for the people the system has failed first.
⚖️ Governance before power
Oversight, transparency and a working complaints route are built in from day one. Every alert, decision and scan is accountable — so this platform can never ignore a person the way the system ignored us. The point is to change the system so the harm stops happening, not to run it the same way.
🏗️ The build — layered roadmap
Each layer reuses the same pattern — sensors → threshold alerts → AI summary — so every layer after the first gets faster to build.
💧 Layer 1 — Water live
- Live river levels, flows, groundwater and flood warnings (England — Environment Agency live API; Scotland — Scottish Water/SEPA links).
- Threshold alerts: flood severity, flow/level anomalies flagged early — the first sign of a pressure or blockage problem downstream.
- AI summary: a plain-language briefing of the current water picture, refreshed every 3 hours.

🌤️ Layer 2 — Air & weather planned
- Predictive thresholds on the air and climate feeds already running — early warning before storms, heat and air-quality events bite.

- Remote sensors + camera recognition on bridges, canals and routes — spotting wear, blockages and failures before they happen.

🛠️ What is required to complete the migration
✅ Software-only — buildable now, no new hardware or licences
- Layer 2 — Air & weather: the feeds already run (Met Office, air-threat, climate, GDACS). Required: threshold rules + public page + AI summary — a build task.
- Layer 1 watermark polish: Scotland live feeds when Scottish Water/SEPA expose a JSON API.
🔑 Data partnerships & licences
- Layer 4 — Sea & coastal: AIS vessel data and port-status feeds require a licensed provider (CalMac publishes no public JSON — the honest-data rule stands until a licensed feed is attached).
- Layer 3 — bridges & canals (part): operator telemetry or inspection APIs from bridge/canal authorities.
📡 Physical hardware & installs
- Layer 3 — roads/bridges/canals: on-site sensors and cameras at the structures themselves.
- Layer 5 — camera AI: camera estate + the bias-testing harness (every gender, every skin tone) before any model ships.
- Own sensors: pressure (PSI) and temperature for the engine rooms and water — the public feeds don't carry them.
- Spectrum: an RTL-SDR dongle for true RF sweeps.
🔎 Honest data notes
The public Environment Agency feed exposes river level, flow and groundwater — not pressure (PSI) or a reliable temperature feed. Until our own sensors are wired in, the early-warning logic uses flow and level anomaly detection (a sudden spike or climb is the early sign of a problem downstream). Nothing on this platform is invented — every number traces to a public source.
